Loving Kindness // Metta

During Metta meditation, we extend unconditional love towards all beings, this includes not only our loved ones, but those people that have hurt us, that we find difficult, those that cause us pain, and, often this part of the practise is the most challenging.

If you can find one good thing about this person, in the midst of everything else, if you focus on that one good thing, just reflect on it for a moment, you’ll find that there’s a feeling of drawing closer, opening up, and all the rest can be seen in that light.

If you can’t find even one good thing about this person, you can reflect on their wish to be happy. Because just like you, everyone wants to be happy.
